Market women would have done a better job today at the Flagstaff house- Lecturer
Professor Ransford Gyampo, a Political science lecturer at the University of Ghana has stated that the journalists that interacted earlier today with the President did not demonstrate a high level of Professionalism.
According to him, the journalists could not put before the President questions that were thought provoking enough. He further said their follow- up questions were also not the performance that was expected of them.
The President addressed the media today at the Flagstaff house, being the second time since he assumed office and selected media houses from all the ten regions of Ghana were granted the opportunity to ask questions that will access his administration so far since he assumed power, giving a balance between women and men in the mainstream media from all the regions.
The Professor further said the market women were sure to perform better than what the press exhibited today.
He said “Most of the questions were not thought-provoking and I think if the President had gone to the market, they would have done a better job”.
He further said while speaking to Accra based radio station that the exercise should be scrapped considering the abysmal performance of the Press.
He also indicated that, People’s Assembly should be considered, as was done in the Kuffuor administration to be able topaint a clearer picture.
This, he considers a better way of accessing the government.
