Medeama SC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Bibiani Goldstars in a Ghana Premier League match on Tuesday afternoon, with the only goal coming from a second-half penalty converted by Kwadwo Amoako.

The victory was crucial for Medeama SC, who had experienced a two-game winless run in the league. The match was part of the ongoing match-week 16 fixtures in the Ghana Premier League.

Medeama SC had a challenging campaign in the CAF Champions League group stages, securing only four points in a group that included Al Ahly, CR Belouizdad, and Young Africans SC of Tanzania.

Under-pressure coach Evans Adotey made changes to the team, handing a starting berth to newly-signed midfielder Michael Enu, who was making his debut for Medeama SC against his former club, Bibiani Goldstars.

The first half of the match was balanced, with Bibiani Goldstars enjoying the majority of possession but failing to capitalize on their chances, resulting in a scoreless draw at halftime.

Medeama SC showed renewed energy in the second half, breaking the deadlock in the 74th minute through a penalty. Defender Kwadwo Amoako stepped up to convert the spot-kick, securing all three points for Medeama SC.

Despite Bibiani Goldstars showing glimpses of leveling the score in the remaining minutes, Medeama SC’s defense stood resolute, ensuring the narrow victory for the Yellow and Mauves.
