Experienced coach Annor Walker has made a surprising comeback to his former team, Great Olympics, after spending a season away in Samreboi.

Walker, 62, had previously left the Accra-based club to join FC Samartex 1996, a newly promoted team in the Ghana Premier League.

His stint with FC Samartex resulted in a respectable 10th-place finish on the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League table.

However, both parties mutually agreed to part ways, leading to Walker’s departure from Samreboi.

This opened the door for his return to Great Olympics, where he had caused distress for numerous clubs during his previous tenure.

The news of Walker’s return has generated excitement among the club’s fans, who are eager to see his impact once again.

On Monday, July 3, 2023, the veteran coach finalized a two-year contract with the Blue and White team after successful negotiations.

Walker’s decision to rejoin Great Olympics came at a critical time for the club, as they faced the threat of relegation in the recently concluded season.

Despite rumors linking him to Accra Hearts of Oak SC, one of the prominent clubs in Ghana, Walker chose to swerve the opportunity and instead opted for a reunion with his former team.
