The Presidency has announced a national call for tributes in memory of the eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in the August 6 helicopter crash.

In a statement issued on Monday, August 11, the Funeral Planning Committee extended an open invitation to individuals, institutions, and the general public to send messages of condolence and heartfelt tributes for inclusion in an official memorial brochure.

The public is encouraged to submit tributes via email to [email protected] no later than 12:00 p.m. GMT on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

A State Funeral to honour the victims will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Black Star Square in Accra, commencing at 8:00 a.m. The ceremony is expected to draw high-level dignitaries, family members, friends, and citizens in a collective act of remembrance.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, said the event is intended to honour the courage, dedication, and spirit of the deceased.

“May their courage, dedication, and spirit inspire us all to continue striving for a stronger, more united, and prosperous Ghana,” he noted in the release.

The helicopter crash, which occurred last week, plunged the nation into mourning, prompting widespread tributes and condolences from across the country and beyond.
