Veteran journalist Sefa Kayi adjudged journalist of the year

Ace broadcaster Kwami Sefa Kayi has been adjudged the Best Journalist of the Year 2016 at the 22nd Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards,
Chairman General as he is affectionately called has won numerous awards both locally and internationally in what is an illustrious career.
Sefa Kayi is the host of Peace FM’s flagship morning show dubbed ‘Kokrookoo’.
The Professor PAV Ansah Journalist of the Year award means that the veteran journo gets a three-bedroom apartment and an undisclosed amount of money.
Aside being behind the microphone daily to execute his journalistic mandate, putting the government and leaders of the nation on their toes as well as educating and informing the general public on national issues; ‘Chairman General’ has also been spearheading an initiative to prevent neonatal deaths and save lives of preterm babies in the country.
His Kokrokoo Charities Foundation has initiated a project under the theme “Project 100 incubators” aimed at raising funds for the purchase of 100 incubators needed in Neonatal Intensive Care Units to be distributed to hospitals across the country.
The team has so far dispatched about 10 incubators at various hospitals and launched a short code 3322 on any MTN network for people to dial and donate towards the project.
