Scores of NDC supporters at the sod cutting ceremony for the construction of the University of Environment and Sustainable development at somanya by the president on Thursday couldn’t hold back their tears upon the arrival of President John Mahama as many were seen crying.
Their emotions got to a crescendo when the president begun to exchange pleasantries. It is however unclear what motivated their crying.
The establishment of the University would be in fulfillment of President Mahama’s 2012 campaign promise to establish a public university in the Eastern Region with the main Campus at Somanya, and a satellite campus in Donkorkrom.
