We pledge integrity, equal justice for all Ghanaians- New Supreme Court Judges

Ghana’s seven newly appointed Supreme Court Justices have vowed to uphold the rule of law and deliver justice without fear or favour, promising to serve all citizens with fairness and integrity.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues after their official swearing-in by President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House on Thursday, July 3, Justice Senyo Dzamefe reaffirmed the court’s commitment to its constitutional mandate.
“To the people of Ghana, we promise to dispense justice to all manner of persons without fear, favour, ill will, or affection. We also promise equal justice under the law,” he said.
Justice Dzamefe also expressed deep gratitude to the families of the newly sworn-in judges for their unwavering support through years of service and dedication.
“For some of us, the road to this moment has been exceptionally long. But our families never gave up on us. They continued to pray, support, and encourage us, believing that this day would come. And finally, it has,” he said.
In a heartfelt reflection, he shared a personal memory of his children asking why his name had not yet appeared on the list of Supreme Court justices.
“Daddy, how come your name hasn’t been on the list?” he recounted. “Today, that question is over. Our names are there now.”
He concluded his remarks with a prayer, seeking divine guidance as the new justices take on their vital responsibilities.
“We pray that the good Lord gives us the strength to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to us,” he said.
