Eastern region crowned champions of inaugural MTN Elite U19 Championship

Eastern Region emerged victorious in the maiden edition of the MTN Elite U19 Championship, edging Brong Ahafo 4–2 on penalties after a tense goalless draw in regulation time at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Sunday.
The final, brimming with intensity and youthful flair, saw Eastern Region’s goalkeeper produce two crucial saves in the shootout, while teammates converted four of five spot kicks to clinch the title.
Midfielder Desmond Tutu, who missed a penalty in each half of regulation time, was spared his blushes as coach Kelvin Agyemang Tuffuor’s side held their nerve to seal a historic triumph.
The win capped a campaign defined by tactical discipline, mental resilience, and group-stage dominance.
