Popular Kumawood actor Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, widely known as Dr. Likee, has demonstrated that his impact extends far beyond the screen, donating GH¢76,026 to help settle the outstanding medical bills of vulnerable patients at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

The gesture, carried out in partnership with Hubert Kyei-Mensah — popularly known as Overmars and founder of the N.B. Sika Foundation — was aimed at easing the financial strain on patients and their families who are struggling to meet the cost of their medical care.

Beyond the cash donation, the actor also presented substantial quantities of detergents, baby formula and diapers to the hospital, with the items specifically intended to support the needs of mothers and children receiving treatment at the facility.

The cheque and donated items were formally presented to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Service at KATH, Ms. Comfort Asoogo, who received them on behalf of the hospital.

The contribution is expected to provide much-needed relief to a number of patients who would otherwise be unable to access or complete their treatment due to financial constraints, while also supporting the hospital’s broader efforts to deliver quality healthcare to all who need it.

Dr. Likee’s act of generosity adds his name to a growing list of public figures and organisations stepping up to bridge the gap between vulnerable Ghanaians and the healthcare they deserve.
