“Having only three weeks in camp and coming to play against Bafana Bafana, I’m satisfied with what I have seen because it’s a new team we are building.”

“The future is very bright but there is more room for improvement. As time goes on, when we get more time camping together, I think they can do better than this.”
Tournament Context
For Ghana, the team is preparing for the upcoming Championship for African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers with a youthful, exuberant and competitive domestic-based squad. South Africa on the other hand, rested several key players ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) opener against Angola on Monday, December 22.
The Bafana Bafana team will be facing off against record winners of the championship Egypt, Angola, and Zimbabwe in Group B of the 2025 AFCON which will be taken place from December 21 to January 18 in Morocco.
Despite the narrow defeat, Mingle’s optimism reflects the developmental focus of the Black Galaxies project. The match offered valuable exposure against a strong opponent, reinforcing the belief that Ghana’s home-based talent can grow into a competitive force with time and continuity.
