Gov’t is telling lies about our financial clearance- Unemployed nurses

The Ghana Nurse-Midwives Trainee Association (GNMTA) have issued a statement debunking claims of government indicating that it has disbursed an amount of GHC 8,042 for the facilitation of posting unemployed nurses.
According to the group, the money in question was issued for the payment of the allowance of National Service Nurses who completed in August 2017 and began the service in April 2018.
The leadership of the group said in the statement“This does not affect the nurses who are due for permanent employment,” explained the statement stressing: “Therefore the information circulating that unemployed nurses have been cleared financially is absolutely erroneous, hence must be disregarded.”
It further read “the leadership want to inform our members and the general public that, the enigma of unemployed nurses and midwives still holds.”
Mr Agyeman-Manu, the Health Minister speaking oh Accra based radio station Starr FM said “I don’t understand what is happening. You sit home for how many years; some of them since 2012. There was a government that had put embargo on even recruiting you people. Last year we lifted it and recruited 17000 and you come picketing, forcing me to do what is not doable”.
“The fact that you have finished school does not mean that compulsorily government should by all means put you there. Some finished during the NDC time, sat home for three to four years, we are looking at them first.
“Now 2016/2017, you finished school, finished National Service in two months your picketing for a job. Is that fair to me?” He quizzed.
The unemployed nurses have displayed their anxieties to the government in different ways with regards to their posting.
They had further used picketing, an act that the Health Minister described as something befuddling.
The nurses during one of their picketing exercises at the Health Ministry, where they were beaten by heavy downpour, told newsmen that they are gradually becoming a threat to the society due to their sordid conditions.
