Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has inaugurated the Board of Directors of its subsidiary, G-Water Bottling Limited, with a mandate to position the company as one of the country’s most competitive and trusted bottled water brands.

The move forms part of GWL’s strategy to diversify its revenue base, strengthen its commercial operations and create sustainable value through investments beyond its traditional role of producing and distributing potable water.

G-Water Bottling Limited was established as a subsidiary of GWL to produce, package and distribute quality drinking water while operating as a commercially viable enterprise.

The newly constituted board comprises Agbesi Nutsu as Board Chairman, Dr Hadisu Alhasan as Executive Director, Sulemana Alhassan Alancash and Joseph Zefo Kero as Non-Executive Directors, and Innocentia Kuupiel as Chief Executive Officer.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Accra, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ghana Water Limited, Eric J. Biliguo Adama, described G-Water Bottling Limited as a critical component of the company’s long-term business growth agenda.

He noted that although the G-Water brand has earned a reputation for quality, purity and taste, its market reach remains limited, preventing it from fully realising its commercial potential.

Managing Director of GWL, Adam Mutawakilu, said the bottled water subsidiary provides an opportunity for the company to leverage its expertise in water treatment and quality assurance to compete effectively in Ghana’s expanding bottled water industry.

According to him, the venture is expected to generate additional revenue for the company, create employment opportunities, strengthen brand visibility and contribute to the country’s economic development.

Board Chairman of G-Water Bottling Limited, Agbesi Nutsu, assured stakeholders of the board’s commitment to providing strategic direction and effective oversight to drive the company’s growth.

He emphasised that the subsidiary was established not only as a business venture but also as a strategic extension of Ghana Water Limited, tasked with delivering safe, reliable and high-quality drinking water to consumers across the country.

The board is expected to steer the company toward greater market penetration and operational excellence as it seeks to establish G-Water as a leading player in Ghana’s bottled water sector.
