I haven’t called Akufo-Addo “President-Elect” – Sam George
Presidential Staffer and a leading communicator for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sam George has refuted reports that he has referred to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as “President-Elect”.
The Member of Parliament (MP)-elect for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency, in a tweet Friday morning declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leader as the winner of the keenly contested polls.
The tweet read, “President-Elect NADAA. Too many errors but the legacy of JDM is undoubted. I am humbled to have served you Sir.”
However, in an interview with Kojo Yankson on JOY NEWS channel on MultiTV said his account was hacked.
“I have posted no such message… my Facebook account I realised has been hacked. A message that is not coming from me has been put out and it is also replicated on my Twitter account,” he said.
He said his two social media accounts are linked “and because my Facebook and Twitter accounts are linked, it means that if I post anything on Facebook, it’s directly replicated on Twitter.”
“I want to state for the record, I am in no position to determine who has won the elections. It is my strong believe and hope that his Excellency John Dramani Mahama will be returned to the Flagstaff House for another four years,” the Presidential Staffer noted.
“Until Madam Charlotte Osei, the only person who has the legal power to declare the results does so, I can only wait and watch like the rest of Ghanaians so I will not pre-empt that announcement by endorsing or congratulating any of the candidates,” Sam George stressed.
