Interim Hearts coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru commends ex-coach Martin Koopman
Abdul Rahim Bashiru, the interim coach of Hearts of Oak, has lauded the efforts of former coach Martin Koopman, acknowledging the positive impact Koopman had on the team before his departure.
Koopman was relieved of his duties due to the team’s unimpressive results in the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak, under the guidance of interim coach Bashiru, returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Goals from Hamza Issah and Raphael Amponsah secured the win, earning the Phobians maximum points.
Speaking to the media after his successful debut as interim coach, Abdul Rahim Bashiru was quick to credit Martin Koopman for the groundwork he laid.
Bashiru emphasized that the team is still playing to the tactics implemented by Koopman, given that the Dutch trainer departed the club not long before the recent victory.
“We are still playing to the tactics of Martin Koopman because he departed the club not long ago, so I cannot take the credit for the win against Accra Lions. I will give some credit to Koopman because he did a very good job with Hearts of Oak,” Bashiru stated.
Hearts of Oak currently occupies the 9th position on the Ghana Premier League table with 15 points after 11 games.
As the team continues its campaign, Bashiru aims to build on Koopman’s foundation while seeking further success in the league.
