Kwame Pianim hails Mahama as only leader capable of resetting Ghana

Renowned economist Kwame Pianim has praised President John Dramani Mahama for what he described as exceptional, responsive leadership, declaring him the only Ghanaian capable of “resetting the nation” in its current state of difficulty.
Pianim made the remarks on Wednesday, June 11, during a courtesy call by the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) on President Mahama at the Jubilee House in Accra.
He commended the President’s attentiveness to the concerns of teachers, noting that his ability to listen and act sets him apart from past leaders.
“Here we tend to underpay our teachers but with you as a listening president, I was happy when they were coming; they said let’s go and talk to the president — I said with this president if he tells you he is going to do something, he will do it,” he said.
“Someone told them he was going to give them 10,000 houses, they got zero. I told them this is a listening president,” he said.
Calling for unity, Pianim urged Ghanaians across the political divide to support President Mahama’s leadership during this critical time.
“Of the 35, 36 million Ghanaians alive, you are the only one who can reset Ghana for us. I have been talking to the other people on the other side; when I put on my political hat, all of us have to make democracy work and support you because if you fail us — this is a historic opportunity for Ghana to get on the right path.”
He concluded by encouraging the President to prioritize national interest over partisanship and focus on building a legacy.
“You are the right person, you don’t need the voters, you don’t need the party, do the best for Ghana and leave a legacy,” Pianim said.
