Parliament reconvenes May 21 for Second Meeting

Parliament will resume sitting on Thursday, May 21, 2026, marking the commencement of the Second Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

The announcement was contained in a formal notice issued by the Office of the Speaker and signed by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, on Monday, May 4.

According to the notice, the sitting will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Parliament of Ghana House in Accra.

The directive was issued pursuant to Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, which mandates the Speaker to formally notify Members of Parliament of the resumption of sittings.

“Pursuant to Order 58 of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby give notice that the Second Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall commence on Thursday, the 21st day of May, 2026, at ten o’clock in the forenoon at Parliament House, Accra.”
