French-born Alexander Djiku makes Ghana debut
French born Ghanaian, Alexander Djiku made his debut for the Black Stars in a friendly in Atalya, Turkey .
The versatile player who is a center back by trade started his first Ghana game in the heart of midfield as a defensive midfielder.
Djiku, 26, was born in Montpeiller France and has Ghana and Senegalese descent but has opted to play for the Black Stars.
Montpellier born Alexander Djiku is of Ghanaian and Senegalese descent and currently plays for French Ligue 1 side Strausbourg.
The coach handed maiden call up to five players namely France based Alexander Djiku who plays for Strasbourg, Yakubu Mohammed of Azam FC in Tanzania, Benson Anang of MSK Zilina in Slovakia, Emmanuel Lomotey of Amiens in France and youngster Kamal Deen who plays for Danish side Nordsjaelland.
At the time of writing this report the Black Stars were trailing their Malian counterparts by three goals to nil.
