I was terminated without reason— Tema NPP secretary responds to TDC dismissal
The Tema Central Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ian Okwei Tabalor, has voiced concern over what he describes as his unjust dismissal from the Tema Development Company (TDC) Limited.
His removal from the company follows allegations that he facilitated the sale of a public plot of land, originally earmarked for a toilet facility in Tema Community 5 to his wife for GH₵2,000.
TDC Managing Director, Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, cited questionable transactions as the basis for the termination, though Mr. Tabalor insists he was never formally informed of any wrongdoing.
Speaking on Eyewitness News with Umaru Sanda Amadu, Mr. Tabalor stated that while he accepts the company’s decision, he was never given an official explanation.
“My file for recruitment is available in the company. My letter stating that I was terminated is in the company. I was terminated without any reason. I have served and worked in the company, and the MD has the opportunity to make certain decisions he wants to make. I have accepted which decision he has taken against me in good faith,” he stated.
He added that the termination letter was issued while he was on leave, and he has since complied with the procedures to exit the company peacefully.
“I have not gone against the company in any way to tarnish the name of the company in any way. While I was on leave, I was given the termination letter, which was all. I have gone through the procedure for me to exit the company amicably. I don’t think I want to banter with anything or tarnish the image of anybody,” he stated.
Mr. Tabalor maintains that he has acted with integrity throughout his time at TDC and rejects any claims of misconduct.
