Ghanaian resident in Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, has petitioned the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin over some signatories endorsed by one Nana Baah, popularly known as Haruna for the acquisition of a 4-acre land at Adoagyiri Signboard on the Accra-Kumasi highway in the Eastern Region.

The victim through his grand cousin, Abdul-Rahman Dollah on April 11, 2015 presented two unregistered Dodge Caliber vehicles and an amount of GHS 32,000 to Haruna in acquisition of the said land at Signboard near Teache Mantey.

According to Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, his grand cousin also made payment for a site plan in his name and requested a replacement of the parcel of land for farmland.

He explained in the petition that "this request was honored and he was granted a 24-acre parcel of land at Teacher Mante by Nana Baah".

According to him, the process to get the documentation of the land was initiated, adding that after the payment of several sums of money, a site plan and indenture were finally issued to him through his grand cousin.

In the petition, he said the documents were taken to the Koforidua Lands Commission to Register the land in his name, however, at the final stage of the land registration process, the signature of the Okyenhene on the documents was said to be a forged one and thereby nullified the whole process.

"This issue was reported to Nana Baah as he presented the said documents to Mohammed Abubakar, and he said this is because the old site plans were no longer valid. We, therefore, had to pay for a surveyor to replot the land and prepare the new bar-coded site plan".

He explained that Nana Baah took Nuru and Liman who perform errands for him to Kyebi and handed the issue over to the Abusuapanyin and the Zongo Chief of Kyebi.

Nuru said the people at Kyebi requested GHS 12,000 to get the document signed.

He said he managed to raise GHS 9,000 for Nuru out of which GHS7,000 was paid for the signing of the documents.

The Zongo chief however confirmed receiving GHS 6,000 from Nuru.

"All this was to no avail as the documents were not signed as promised. Several visits to the Okyehene palace at Adabraka to find a resolution also proved futile".

"After several attempts to get the new bar-coded site plan to be signed by the Okyenhene, we were asked to pay an amount of GHS 60,000 by the lands secretariat in the Palace to get the documents signed".

"A visit to the site earlier this month was quite disturbing as a gentleman by name of Kwasi Dolla claimed ownership of the land, stating that the land does not belong to Okyeman and he has even started demarcating the land for sale".

"I am by this petition appealing to Okyenhene to investigate the issuance of documents with a fake signature in his name which is a dent on the image of the stool, also assist me to get my parcel of land or at worst receiving a refund of my money. Counting on your cooperation and assistance in resolving this issue" the petition added.
