“Step into the GCMCL disagreements”- IMANI Africa to Energy Minister
The Vice President of Think Tank group, IMANI Africa, Selorm Brantie, has called on the Minister of Energy, Hon. Boakye Agyarko to handle the issue that is going on between the suspended Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Limited (GCMCL).
Madam Frances Essiam was suspended earlier today Tuesday May 8 2018 following a Board meeting that took place at the Robin Hood Hotel on the Spintex road.
Since assuming office as the CEO of the Company, Madam Essiam has not had a smooth administration.
She has been accused by the members of the Board of selling some disused items of the company and had been asked to define the processes under which she had old the items.
Mr Brantie said, “The Energy Minister may have to step in to handle the issue at GCMC. The issues under contention will have to be looked at as well. The Minister should launch a commission of inquiry. The company should not be shut down on the orders of the CEO especially when there is nothing to hide”.
Madam Essiam has however stated that, she will take legal action to clear her name after stating on Starr FM that she is “incorruptible”.
She said, “For all the things that he [board chairman] said, I will take the appropriate means administratively, legally to seek redress and repair my image. The law will take its course…and trust me the law will take its course because I am talking as a woman whose reputation is being wounded”.
