Swedru All Blacks head coach Ahmed Fathi has resigned from his role, bringing an early end to his spell with the Ghana Premier League side after citing personal reasons for his decision.

The Egyptian tactician was appointed following the club’s return to the top flight, tasked with guiding the Black Magicians through a challenging transition period and ensuring stability in their first season back among Ghana’s elite.

Fathi’s tenure was not without difficulty. A slow start to the campaign led to pressure from sections of the fan base, with calls for his dismissal growing louder in the early weeks. However, the team showed resilience, steadying themselves to finish ninth at the halfway stage of the season.

In a message shared on social media on Saturday, Fathi confirmed his departure and expressed gratitude to the club’s supporters.

“Dear Swedru All Blacks fans, thank you for your support,” he wrote. “I have decided not to continue for personal reasons, with full respect to the club and everyone who works in it. I wish the club continued success.”

Swedru All Blacks are yet to issue an official statement confirming the coach’s exit, as the club now faces a period of uncertainty while they consider their next steps ahead of the remainder of the league campaign.
